How did it begin?

This project came up to me in mid February of 2024. One fine day my client came up and said, “hey, can we make an OTT platform? just like Netflix, Amazon prime and so?”. Well at first moment my answer was not sure as I’m myself just a frontend developer maybe a designer and also an app developer but not even close to backend development.

Of course I wanted that project, so I started looking for someone who would take care of the backend part. That's where I found my friend Pradyumna, who’s my classmate. Bro got some amazing backend skills and some amazing experience as well regarding backend development. Thus all sorted out ( it wasn't at that moment though). We signed an agreement, and talked about the budget and payment terms ( We undercharged too much) 🙂

👨‍💻 Tech stack we used

For frontend (website): I used Next.js for making it and styled it with Tailwind CSS. Used multiple packages, especially the HLS.js for working with the video player that runs on hls.

For the mobile app : I used my familiar Flutter for this task. Well it almost worked perfectly, just that the video player wasn't performing too good, and I had to modify the entire package, but that's cool, cz I got to learn a lot while doing so.

For the backend : Pradyumna used Flask, Python and we used AWS for everything. Payments as of now are being handled by PhonePe.

The admin console was also made using Next.js and Tailwind Css.
