How did things start?

I remember scrolling YouTube after my semester exams were over, It was second semester examination I remember. After my exams, maybe I went out with friends for a day or two, then started procrastinating “Why don’t I learn something useful, I have already wasted almost a semester in online mode, doing nothing”. It was really a deep and dark feeling the entire time, I felt super useless, as if I never have achieved anything in life. I felt super terrible at that point of time. A feeling came inside me, that I need to do something, something good enough that can set me aside, at least from the current me.

A spark, The feeling of doing things..

The YouTube channel I stumbled upon back then.

The YouTube channel “Codepur”

I came up across a YouTube video called “Master Flutter in 8hrs”. That was the spark I needed. I installed Flutter on my laptop, and what next? Started following the video. Really loved the thing that the code starts running so quickly on your actual device. I was like “Dayumn I’m making apps or something?”. It was an awesome experience. I spent the next 14-15 days of my holidays, entirely into Flutter App development. Didn’t sleep much for the following days. It was worth it in the end.

A good decision, now I feel so

Things ahead

For the time being I didn’t do much with Flutter, made one or two simple apps, with horrible architecture. Poor styling was a “Cherry on top”(sarcastic tone). At that time, Flutter used to get a huge load of updates every now and then, so did it’s packages. It wasn’t a very good experience in my opinion back then. Thus I called it off for the time being. It was becoming a headache at that point of time.

A year later.

I’m a member of our college’s Students’ Chapter CSE community. We organize events and all, where we we need to admit people. We used to manually enter the names of all students and oh boy! It was a hectic process.

I thought that, why don’t I try to use my Flutter skills and make an app where people will have QR codes and that will be used for quick entries. Seemed a difficult idea back then, but turned out to be successful ✅. The waiting time for students reduced a lot. I used a simple Firebase app for this purpose, used simple QR code scanning packages, and oh also the registrations for the event too were done with this app itself. It was a big thing for me at that time.

Moving to PlayStore.

As I started learning a bit more, I felt like I should go a bit more public with my apps. I considered the popular places where apps are downloaded from. The Play Store and the App Store. I discarded the idea of App Store as it charges a lot, and I didn’t want to spend much on these. Play Store charged a modest fees of 25$ for lifetime, I went for it.

I released my apps on playstore accordingly, the day the apps went live, it was a huge feeling of accomplishment!.

My first app to reach 500+ downloads.(without any promotion).

Things getting bigger

Recently I started working on a huge project, will reveal it’s name as its completed, I am using flutter for making its mobile application, hope things turn out well.

Thanks :)
